VIKING hosts Crown Prince at its centre of excellence near Bangkok

  • VIKING Life-Saving Equipment’s centre in Thailand toured by Denmark’s Crown Prince Frederik
  • State-of-the-art Laem Chabang-based facility employs approx. 500 staff
  • Trip part of bi-lateral anniversary celebrations marking 150 years of diplomatic relations between two proud maritime nations

VIKING Life-Saving Equipment’s manufacturing facility in Laem Chabang south of Bangkok hosted an official visit from HRH Danish Crown Prince Frederik on
26 November as part of celebrations marking 150 years of diplomatic relations between Denmark and Thailand.

With its roots in Esbjerg, Denmark, VIKING was proud to play an important role in these celebrations, showcasing its international expansion and demonstrating that Danish maritime companies are globally recognised - and deservedly so - for their high quality output.

The facility in Thailand employs approx. 500 people and features the same cutting edge technology, commitment to quality and reliability, and dynamic ethos as the company’s corresponding facilities in Denmark and Norway.

“We were pleased to host HRH Crown Prince Frederik and show our purpose built state-of-the-art facilities in Thailand and the high quality products being produced there,” said VIKING chief executive officer Kjeld Amann, “We are sure that the Crown Prince’s background as a Danish navy seal helped him to properly evaluate and appreciate our important contribution to maritime safety. I believe he also enjoyed witnessing another fruitful and expanding co-operation between Thailand and Denmark.”

“Our success depends on a team effort with shared values and common goals, “said member of the board Annette Kristensen, “We aim to provide the best total safety solutions in the world. Together with our colleagues both in Thailand and around the world, we are committed to raising safety standards and are determined to lead the way for a safer life at sea.”
