Apprentice at VIKING

All-round apprentices rotate through 4 different departments during the 2 year period: Sales, Logistics, Shipping and Finance. Halfway the apprentices have a 2-3 week stay in one of VIKING’s foreign subsidiaries to experience the work life abroad. All-round apprentices follow first part of a HD in business, which is a Danish broad-based, general academic diploma program, which is finalized by a diploma.

Sales apprentices will throughout the 2 year period stay in VIKING’s 2 sales departments; the Global Fire Sales working with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) such as fire suits and the Regional Sales Department handling sales throughout Denmark and North Europe. Sales apprentices will attend the educational branch ‘Trade Assistance – Sales’ at the Business College South in Soenderborg.

Technical Designer apprentices change between a semester at VIKING and a semester at the school over a 2 year period. During the semesters at VIKING the Technical Designer apprentices will be working in at least one of our technical departments; Raft Engineering, Marine Evacuate System (MES) Engineering or Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) production and Planning. Technical Designer apprentices will attend the educational branch ‘Production and Development’ at EUC West in Esbjerg.

IT Support apprentices are working at our IT Help Desk in our Global IT department placed in Esbjerg. Throughout the 2 years the IT Support apprentices will attend the educational branch ‘IT’ at the EUC South in Soenderborg.
